This full-bodied red wine is made from grapes grown in a small vineyard which is rich in history but produces only 40 -50 hl per hectare. It can be made only when particular conditions marry in such way as to allow us to produce this unique wine.
BLEND OF GRAPES: Montepulciano 70%, Sangiovese 30%
TERRAIN: average textured soil, tending to clay at 300 metres altitude in Offida.
VINIFICATION (Wine making process): traditional with maceration of the peels for 10-15 days in steel silos.
REFINEMENT OF WINE: in oak barrels for 15 months, then in bottles for approximately 6 months.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS: dark colour, aroma of ripe fruit, enriched with a hint of liquorice. This wine brims with austere tannins yet at the same time is tender, affable and a long-lasting pleasure to the palate.
TO BE SERVED: with all meats.
